Description

Daughter of Lady Blanche and Lord George, Rose married a Duke to escape the stifling rigidity of her family and to become the Duchess Rose. At first naively romantic, she has now become disillusioned and frustrated in an unsatisfactory marriage.

Always looking for fun and frivolity, and perhaps an illicit affair, her fragrance is a not so innocent fresh rose, resplendent with rich and juicy orange, seductively musky, and, in the long and lovely drydown, surprisingly woodsy. The Duchess Rose may not play by the rules, but if you let yourself into her embrace, you’re bound to be seduced.

About brand
Penhaligon’s is a British perfumery established in 1870 by William Penhaligon. Originating as a barbershop, Penhaligon’s offered its first fragrance in 1872, Hammam Bouquet. The fragrance was inspired by the neighbouring Turkish bath and its sulphurous steam. The company’s best-selling fragrance, 1902’s Blenheim Bouquet, created at the request of the Duke of Marlborough at Blenheim Palace, broke with the prevailing floral trends of its day to enchant with zesty citrus, spices and woods. Scents were issued regularly from the original shop on Jermyn Street, until it was destroyed in The Blitz of 1941. The shop disappeared, but the fragrances of the company endured, and in 1956, Penhaligon’s was granted a Royal Warrant by the Duke of Edinburgh for the manufacturing of toiletries. Interest in the company was renewed with the opening of a new Penahligon’s flagship store in Covent Gardens, in 1975. The flagship store represented a new direction for the company as well, with the old formulas composed by William Penhaligon being resurrected, and new floral scents designed to appeal to a modern female customer. Chief among these was 1978’s Bluebell, which remains a best-seller for the company today. The company was granted a second Royal Warrant in 1988, by the Princess of Wales. Many of the original scents created by William Penhaligon were modernized and re-introduced as part of the “Anthology Collection.” The company maintains its commitment to fine, traditional perfume ingredients and techniques.
Orders & Postage

ORDER PRODUCTION

All samples are produced to order. We typically specify two working days for production and dispatch of orders. This is intended as a guide and production can slip during busy times of the year. If your order is time sensitive, please contact us for an accurate production and dispatch time frame. Occasionally we may not have sufficient volume from a single bottle to complete your order. To avoid mixing bottles, we will wait until we have sufficient stock to produce all of your order from a single bottle. Again, you will be notified by email if this is the case and a full refund will be made if this create an unacceptable delay for you.

POSTAGE

All orders are dispatched using Royal Mail Second Class Signed For. A tracking number for each order is available upon request and items can be tracked at https://www.royalmail.com/track-your-item. Royal Mail quote 2-4 working days for delivery of Second Class items and Perfumista is not responsible for the delivery times once the order has left our premises. If you are not in at the time of delivery the postman/courier will generally leave a note to say that the parcel has been taken back to the depot where you may pick it up/ request a re-delivery.

LOST IN TRANSIT

Please contact us if your item has not arrived within 7 days of your order being placed and we will try and locate it. If the tracking reference shows that your item is still with Royal Mail we are required to wait a total of 21 working days before a claim can be made for a lost item. At this point a claim will be raised and a replacement item sent (stock permitting). Where items are out of stock a refund will be made.

In the event of an order lost in transit the customer is required to cooperate with us and Royal Mail in dealing with the claim. Failure to cooperate may invalidate the claim for a lost order.
